Beachfront
Grandview Properties offers access to 200′ of sandy beachfront property. This beach property is situated just across the highway from Grandview Drive.
In 2005 we commenced construction of the first phase of our marina.
The project began with a site preparation project to provide parking at the beach. Large rock rip-rap was trucked in and placed to protect the parking lot
Kootenay Lake has an annual rise and fall of up to 15 feet, and the water levels are controlled by hydroelectric dams located downstream.
Our commercial marina is approved for 64 slips, and will be expanded as demand requires.
We have chosen to use concrete or steel pilings, depending upon availability.
The wharfs are constructed of an aluminum superstructure with HDPE floats (foam filled) and plastic decking. These products will minimize annual maintenance caused by weather related factors.
The main wharf – shown below, is situated far enough from shore to remain floating year round.
We are expecting to install the floating breakwater in 2009.
In the summer, Sunshine Bay will warm up to 68F degrees. That’s a great temperature for the kids, but the rest of us head to the main lake where it gets to a nice refreshing 73F degrees.
